Standout: “Pink Beetle” – Rejjie Snow

Although Rejjie Snow hasn’t dropped a project since his 2014 breakthrough Rejovich EP, he’s been consistent with singles. “Pink Beetle” is very impressive, with a delicate yet powerful melodic chorus and verses containing the type of bars Snow fans love to hear, jumping in and out of philosophical, supernatural, and sexual references with Rejjie’s incredibly original go-to flow throughout the track. The Irishman rides a simple beat consisting mostly of a soft piano loop, dreamy pads, and crispy drums—whose high hats pretty much serve as an instrument on their own—that couldn’t have been made for anyone else. Rejjie Snow’s full length debut Dear Annie doesn’t have a date yet, but stay on the lookout for a review when it drops.
